History:
Stoneground, Family-owned by New York transplants Robert McCarthy and his cousin Paul O’Connor opened Stoneground in June of 2000. Paul a recent graduate from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and Robert decided the best food was “home” food. Using over 80% of their Grandmother’s recipes the menu for Stoneground was born. Located on the second floor of the original “Salt Lake Roasting Company” building, the design of the restaurant fell into place. With a great view of the city's architecturally spectacular main public library, cement table tops, exposed piping, steel wrapped pool tables, and local artwork on the wall, the space transformed into a chic-urban, warm, friendly place attracting a devoted clientele looking for a casual pizza, pasta, beer and pool hangout.
Throughout the years Stoneground continues to be a place where locals return to be greeted by name and enjoy their favorite dish in a familiar atmosphere.
